...My body my temple...

July, July, sweet July. I've always hated absurdly hot weather, but this year I've prayed for it. See this year, I started surfing, and I want warm water so I don't need to rent a damn wetsuit, which gets expensive. It's finally starting to get hot-as-balls. It's been a "cold" summer so far (i.e. cold for a Southern California summer).

Speaking of surfing, last Saturday I finally stood up on a surf board, as did my girlfriend! The last 4 times my girlfriend and I went surfing we used 8ft. foam boards. We went to this new beach though, and the only place that rented didn't have foam boards. The guy went on and on about how the plexi boards he had were far superior to foam boards, they were esaier to learn on and not as hard as fiberglass boards. So, we decided to take a chance... and wow, he was right! We had a ton of fun!

So, I'm excited, just a few more days until MetalliBash 2002! I'm hopnig and praying the band shows up - and I'm hoping and praying they play Dead Kennedy Rolls. I don't think I can stand knowing there's a new Metallica song out there that I haven't heard yet. It's unbelievably frustrating. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE show up guys! You know you don't want to miss such a cool event, right?! Hmmm, that reminds me when Jeff McNeil, started putting "PKTIA" or something like that at the bottom of every post on the AOL Message Boards (Play Killing Time in Australia)... it may have been "in Melbourne" or something, but you get the point. It went on for a few months, and tons of people pitched in and all started posting it... and they ACTUALLY DID IT. Heh, good times.

Anyway, what else is new? I started doing a lot of CGI stuff at work, which made me a little burned out on it, so I haven't worked on the boards as much as I would like. But for those wondering, what's left is basically: complete the search utilities, some interface tweaks, a bit of graphics work. They really are damn cool so far!

Two side comments here:
1. I know the reviews for Scooby Doo weren't great, but if you were a fan of the cartoon, do yourself a favor, and go see this movie. It really is well done. They address all the "issues" people have had/suspected/claimed about the show. And best of all, they hate Scrappy as much as you do! I won't say any more, because I don't want to spoil it all, but you should go see it. It's not the best movie of the year, but it was really good.
2. GO RENT Moulin Rouge! I expected to only semi-like this movie/musical. But I LOVED it. I thought it was completely awesome! The entire experience was amazing!

One last note... I'm really getting the Metallica fever... and some other people who I wasn't sure would get it this time around, I think are also starting to get it. I hope you all are FUCKING PSYCHED for this new era of Metallica; I know I am!!
